Twórca ludowy, animator kultury, regionalista. Malarstwem na szkle i ceramiką zajmuje się od 1975 roku. W 2025 roku przypada 50 lecie jego pracy artystycznej. Prace Waldemara Majchera znajdują się w zbiorach muzealnych i prywatnych galeriach na wszystkich kontynentach, twórca uczestniczył w ponad 120 wystawach zbiorowych i indywidualnych w kraju i na świecie. Od 2013 Pan Waldemar Majcher jest członkiem Rady ds. niematerialnego dziedzictwa kulturowego powołanej przez Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego jako organ pomocniczy Ministra, w związku z realizacją postanowień Konwencji UNESCO z 2003 r. w sprawie ochrony niematerialnego dziedzictwa kulturowego. Jest Członkiem Kapituły Nagrody im. Oskara Kolberga „Za zasługi dla kultury ludowej” W lutym 2024 roku został powołany przez Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego w skład Rady Programowej Instytutu Północnego im. Wojciecha Kętrzyńskiego na kadencję 2024-2028. Od 2009 do chwili obecnej sprawuje funkcję Prezesa Zarządu Głównego Stowarzyszenia Twórców Ludowych. W latach 2001 - 2009 był V-ce Prezesem Zarządu Głównego S.T.L.

A folk artist, cultural animator, and regionalist. He has been working with glass painting and ceramics since 1975. In 2025, he will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his artistic career. His works are part of museum collections and private galleries on all continents. He has participated in over 120 group and solo exhibitions both in Poland and internationally. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Council for Intangible Cultural Heritage, established by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as advisory body to the Minister, in connection with the implementation of the UNESCO Convention of 2003 on the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage. He is also a member of the Oskar Kolberg Award Committee, which honours individuals for their contributions to folk culture. In February 2024, he was appointed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage to the Program Council of the Northern Institute of Wojciech Kętrzyński for the 2024–2028 term. From 2009 to the present, he has served as the President of the Board of the Association of Folk Artists. From 2001 to 2009, he was Vice-President of the Board of the Association of Folk Artists.
