W zeszłym tygodniu w Genewie odbyło się posiedzenie Komitetu Koordynacyjnego World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), podczas którego nominowano pana Darena Tanga na drugą, sześcioletnią kadencję Dyrektora Generalnego.

Gratulujemy Dyrektorowi Generalnemu uzyskania silnego mandatu do dalszego wzmacniania globalnego systemu własności intelektualnej.

W obradach WIPO uczestniczyły Prezes Urzędu Patentowego RP Ewa Skrzydło-Tefelska oraz Dyrektor Departamentu Współpracy Międzynarodowej Magdalena Wróbel-Czarnecka.

Wizyta w Genewie była również okazją do szeregu spotkań bilateralnych.

Podczas rozmów z Prezes Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (Portugalia) Aną Margeridą Bandeirą podpisany został Plan Współpracy na 2026 rok.

Delegacja UPRP spotkała się także z Dyrektorem WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center Ignacio De Castro Llamasem oraz Dyrektorem Division for Transition and Developed Countries Habipem Asanem, omawiając możliwości pogłębienia współpracy w zakresie alternatywnych metod rozstrzygania sporów, wsparcia dla użytkowników systemu IP oraz wspólnych projektów szkoleniowych.

Aktywna obecność UPRP w Genewie potwierdza nasze zaangażowanie w rozwój międzynarodowej współpracy i budowanie silnego, nowoczesnego systemu ochrony własności intelektualnej – z korzyścią dla polskich przedsiębiorców i twórców.

Last week in Geneva, the Coordination Committee of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) nominated Daren Tang for a second six-year term as Director General.

We congratulate Director General Tang on receiving strong support to continue strengthening the global intellectual property system.

The Polish Patent Office was represented at the WIPO sessions by the President Ewa Skrzydło-Tefelska and the Director of the International Cooperation Department Magdalena Wróbel-Czarnecka. The visit also provided an opportunity for a series of bilateral meetings.

During discussions with the President of the Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial Ana Margerida Bandeira, the 2026 Cooperation Plan was signed, covering experience exchange, training activities, and initiatives to support innovative enterprises.

The delegation also met with the Director of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center Ignacio De Castro Llamas and the Director of the WIPO Division for Transition and Developed Countries Habip ASAN to explore further cooperation in alternative dispute resolution, support for IP system users, and joint training projects.

The active participation of the Polish Patent Office in Geneva underscores our commitment to developing international cooperation and building a strong, modern intellectual property system – for the benefit of Polish entrepreneurs and creators.
