Gościmy studentów Joint Master’s Degree Programme in Intellectual Property and New Technologies – programu studiów magisterskich, organizowanego wspólnie przez Uniwersytet Jagielloński w Krakowie, Światową Organizację Własności Intelektualnej (WIPO) i Urząd Patentowy RP.

Wizytę studyjną w Urzędzie Patentowym otworzyła Prezes dr hab. Ewa Skrzydło-Tefelska, mówiąc: „Jesteście Państwo słuchaczami bardzo intensywnych, wspaniałych studiów. Dziś poznacie praktyczny obraz tego, jak tworzona i wdrażana jest ochrona własności intelektualnej.”

Studenci, których wizycie przewodniczył dr Dariusz Kasprzycki z Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, mieli niepowtarzalną okazję do zapoznania się z działalnością naszego Urzędu oraz szczegółami współpracy UPRP z WIPO, a także do poznania od kuchni naszego Centrum Informacji, z jego szerokim wachlarzem nowoczesnych narzędzi komunikacji.

Po przerwie zaplanowano część praktyczną i ekspercką:

• warsztaty z wyszukiwania znaków towarowych,
• spotkanie poświęcone postępowaniom przed Kolegium Orzekającym UPRP.

W kolejnym dniu wizyty uczestnicy dowiedzą się, jakie działania edukacyjne prowadzi Urząd Patentowy, jak prowadzone są nasze rejestry, a także wezmą udział w warsztatach z wyszukiwania informacji patentowej.

Kierunek Intellectual Property and New Technologies ma za zadanie przekazywać studentom i studentkom specjalistyczną wiedzę z zakresu prawa własności intelektualnej w odniesieniu do nowych technologii, jak również przedstawiać europejskie i światowe trendy w zakresie rozwoju tej dziedziny prawa.

We are pleased to host students of the Joint Master’s Degree Programme in Intellectual Property and New Technologies – a programme jointly organized by the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland.

The study visit to the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland was opened by President Dr. hab. Ewa Skrzydło-Tefelska, who said: “You are participants in a very intensive and excellent program of studies. Today, you will gain practical view of how intellectual property protection is created and implemented.”

Students, whose visit was led by Dr. Dariusz Kasprzycki from the Jagiellonian University, had a unique opportunity to learn about the activities of our Office, as well as the details of PPO’s cooperation with WIPO. They also gained insight into our Information Centre, including its wide range of modern communication tools.

Following a short break, the programme will continue with practical and expert sessions:

• a workshop on trademark searching,
• a meeting dedicated to proceedings before the Adjudicating Board of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland.

On the following day, participants will learn more about the educational initiatives carried out by our Office, how our registers are maintained, and will take part in a workshop on patent information searching.

The Programme in Intellectual Property and New Technologies is designed to provide students with specialized knowledge of intellectual property law in the context of new technologies, while also presenting European and global trends in the development of this field.
